FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the school day start?

Our school day starts at 8:45 a.m.

What do I do if I have a concern or query?

If you would like to speak to your child’s class teacher the best time is always after school (as we are always super busy setting up the day’s learning in the morning). If a matter is urgent, please leave a message via the school office. We will then ensure a member of staff speaks to you a.s.a.p.

How can I find out what is going on at school?

You will receive a school newsletter fortnightly which will keep you updated with all the latest news and events at the school. The school website hosts a blog for each class which are updated regularly.  Alongside this, curriculum overviews and class newsletters can be found. We also have a school text message service which we use regularly to give you those little reminders!

What is the school uniform?

  • White shirt or polo shirt
  • Grey or black skirt, pinafore, trousers or shorts
  • Jade/green gingham dresses for summer (optional)
  • White socks - long or short
  • Thick grey or black tights for winter
  • Black Shoes

Boys

  • Jade sweatshirt or cardigan
  • White shirt or polo shirt
  • Grey or black trousers or shorts
  • Black Shoes

These can be ordered through Swallowtail uniformsor My Clothing

What do I need to do about lunches?

School lunches cost £2.30. For this price, children have the choice of the daily hot meal option, a school packed or a jacket potato. Currently, children in Y’s R-2 do not need to pay for these meals as part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals funding. All other children must pay unless they are eligible for free school meals.

All paid lunches must be pre-paid using your parent Pupil Asset account.

What do I do if I think I might be entitled to free school meals for my child?

Please complete the application following this link. Even if your child is accessing the universal free school meals, it is important to complete this form as it ensures we are able to access funds to support you with the cost of things like school trips and uniforms.

When does the school day end?

The school day ends at 2:45 p.m. for preschool children and 3:15 p.m for all other pupils.

If somebody new will be collecting your child, please ensure you have informed the school office/class teacher. If we do not have this information we will not let your child go without checking with you first. Children in Y5/6 may wish to walk/cycle home by themselves – in this case, please ensure that the class teacher/office are informed that you give permission for your child to do this.
